About

Zixin Lin is a textile artist based in London and Hong Kong. Her work focuses on experimenting with various techniques that are appropriate for different materials.

Zixin aims to use basic approaches to gently unravel the qualities of substances and provoke diverse interpretations of physical spirituality. She has rebuilt her expertise and knowledge of traditional textile skills, particularly influenced by the Italian art movement "Arte povera" in the 1970s, and attempts to interpret the spiritual value of ordinary objects in a purer way.

Currently graduated for her Masters in Textiles at the Royal College of Art. Her work is centered around relationships, identity, family and time. She intends to explore the contradictions and connections that exist between people and things in various times and spaces, contexts and forms. In the repetitive and slow process of creation, she sorted out each sensation to herself, the resulting work becomes an individual's response to the outside world.
